Spring Book Bazaar and Sofia International Literary Festival for Children and Youth

Literacy is the topic of the 15th edition of the Spring Book Bazaar, which will take place from May 30 to June 5. A record number of publishers across the country will participate this year to present a record number of books of all genres. Rare and for the first time published in our country will be presented among more than 15,000 titles of more than 130 publishers across the country, located in more than 60 tents.

The Spring Book Bazaar is organized by the Bulgarian Book Association and is part of the Calendar of Cultural Events of Sofia Municipality.

The official opening of the largest book exhibition in our country will be in the park in front of the National Palace of Culture at 11:00 on May 30 (Monday) and until June 5 (Sunday) we will witness a rich accompanying cultural program with over 100 events - premieres of new books, meetings with authors, translators and publishers, discussions, presentations, games for children, literacy competitions, literary readings, etc.

The fifth Sofia International Literary Festival for Children and Youth will be held as part of the Spring Book Bazaar. Under the motto "Read the world!" it will offer young readers a self-contained stage with a program aimed at increasing interest in reading, literature and functional literacy. There are many meetings with foreign and Bulgarian authors, creative workshops - for illustrations, poetry in rhyme, fairy tales and many other events, provocatively aimed at children's curiosity. Every day from 11.00 people of art and culture will read new books to children.

Children's Day - June 1, will be a special highlight this week and will become a real holiday for kids of all ages, who will be able to immerse themselves in the fabulous and richly illustrated literary world of the latest children's books.

Opening hours of the exhibition:
May 30 - June 5 (Monday - Saturday) - from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.;
June 6 (Sunday) - 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
