Students from National High School of Natural Sciences and Mathematics (NPMG) won a total of 18 medals—5 gold, 12 silver, and 1 bronze—at the international math competition WMTC held in Doha, Qatar. The students from NPMG "Acadеmician Lyubomir Chakalov" solidified their reputation as some of the best in the world of mathematics. At the World Mathematics Team Championship (WMTC), held from November 27 to December 2, 2024, in Doha, Qatar, they earned 18 medals—5 gold, 12 silver, and 1 bronze—along with numerous team awards.
The competition brought together 136 teams from over 20 countries, divided into three age categories: Junior (Grades 5-6), Intermediate (Grades 7-9), and Advanced (Grades 10-12).
- Junior Group: The students won 5 silver and 1 bronze medal, along with a certificate for team participation.
- Intermediate Group: The team won third place in the team competition and achieved 4 gold and 2 silver medals individually.
- Advanced Group: The team received a certificate of excellence, with Georgi Kalbakov winning a gold medal for the second consecutive year. The other participants earned silver medals.
The opportunity for participation, the strong partnership with Sofia Tourism Administration and the excellent results achieved ,reinforce the school's position and the successful promotion of the Visit Sofia brand in Doha, Qatar.
