Open Doors Day at the Sofia Library

Sofia Library celebrates the holiday of Bulgarian librarians with an Open Day and free reading cards.

In 2022, the Sofia Library celebrates May 11 - the Day of the Librarian, with 72,000 readers, of which 5,000 new readers since the beginning of this year, with over 150,000 books distributed in 4 months and a newly opened modern fifth branch of the library in Sofia - in the Ovcha Kupel district.

Throughout the holiday, the Sofia Library will give away free one-year reader's cards to anyone interested.

Sofia Library will show various exhibitions, as well as the thematic exhibition "Sofia's Library Tells", presenting part of the rich literary heritage of Sofia, preserved for future generations thanks to the dedication and professionalism of hundreds of custodians who worked in Sofia Library to promote the word and knowledge.

Famous artists - friends of the library: Georgi Gospodinov, Mirela Ivanova, Prof. Mihail Nedelchev, Kalin Terziiski, Silvia Choleva, Vladimir Zarev, Ivan Landzhev, saxophonist Ivan Borodzhiev and others will join the initiative with poems, messages and music. who have always been committed to our spiritual cause. Favorite authors will present their new autographed books to readers.
