International Astronomy Day at Sofia Observatory

As part of the International Spring Astronomy Day, the Department of Astronomy of Sofia University traditionally organizes a public event with a diverse program at the oldest observatory in Bulgaria.

An open public event with popular science lectures, entertaining scientific demonstrations, an exhibition and telescope observations in the clear sky will be held on May 7, 2022 from 4 to 10 pm at the Astronomical Observatory of Sofia University in Borisova Gradina Park. The event is suitable for all ages and will allow visitors to meet and talk with current Bulgarian scientists, as well as to get acquainted with their scientific work and its importance to society. Guests will be able to learn more about the Astronomical Observatory of Sofia University, which is a monument of cultural heritage.

The event is realized within the project Astronomy Day at Sofia Observatory 2022, supported as an activity in the competition "UniverCity - Strategic Partnerships of Higher Education for Community".
