According to the rankings of fDi Intelligence, a division of the Financial Times, Sofia ranks third after London and Dublin in the category “European City of the Future 2020/21 – Foreign Direct Investment Strategy”. The ranking is conducted once every 2 years and is based on a macroeconomic analysis of 505 cities and regions across Europe in 5 categories - economic potential, working environment, cost-effectiveness, infrastructure and favorable conditions for business development. The Bulgarian capital also holds prestigious positions in other categories:
- 3rd in terms of cost effectiveness;
- 6th in the category "Eastern European Regions of the Future";
- 9th in the category “Small European Regions of the Future” in terms of cost effectiveness;
Certificates will be presented in Cannes in March.
