THE NATIONAL MUSEUM OF MILITARY HISTORY PRESENTS THE EXHIBITION “SWISS THREAD IN BULGARIAN HISTORY”
from February 26 until March 22
On Wednesday, February 26, at 11:00, at the National Museum of Military History – 92 Cherkovna Str., Sofia, opens the exhibition Swiss Thread in Bulgarian History. The exhibition is dedicated to the 142 anniversary of the Liberation of Bulgaria.
For the first time ever, the exhibition will present Swiss printed textiles on Bulgarian historical themes, produced by various print houses from the Canton of Glarus, Switzerland. These render predominantly landmark events and foremost figures from Bulgarian history, while the printed in highest numbers textiles feature themes from the Russo-Turkish War of 1877 – 1878. After the Liberation, the output of the print houses started to sell in the Principality Bulgaria through the opened Sofia and Varna agencies.
The exhibition can be viewed at the National Museum of Military History until March 22.
