Marathon Sofia Brings Together a Record Number of Participants

s a permanent holder of the title European Capital of Sport Sofia has established an active way of life among its residents and has created numerous opportunities for participation in various sports activities, including annual marathons. A record number of athletes have expressed their desire to participate in Marathon Sofia on October 14 - more than 4000 runners from 45 countries will take part in it. Apart from the traditionally strong competitors from Kenya, Morocco, and Ethiopia, this year runners from Uganda, Rwanda, Australia and the UAE will also compete in the marathon. For the first time in Bulgaria there will be a delegate of the International Federation who will inspect the route. The competition is part of the initiative Sofia 2018 – European Capital of Sport.
