The relics of the holy brothers Cyril and Methodius arrive in Sofia

The holy relics of the co-apostolic brothers Cyril and Methodius are arriving in Sofia for national veneration, the Holy Synod of the Bulgarian Orthodox Church announced.

They will be exposed at St. Nedelya Church in the period May 23-25.

The holy relics of the Bulgarian enlighteners will be brought to Bulgaria by His ExcellencyArchimandrite Bartholomew - Abbot of the Mount Athos Monastery Esfigmen. The relic is kept in the Holy Monastery of Esfigmenos, at the seat of the holy cloister - the capital of the monastic republic, Karyaes.

The program includes welcoming, worshiping, divine service and dispatching of the relics the Holy Synod announced.

In connection with the event, the movement in the center of Sofia during the reception, the procession and the sending of the relics of the holy brothers is expected to be difficult.
