The event will be launched with the Puppet‘s Parade, organized by the Sofia Puppet Theatre and the Union of Bulgarian Actors (UBA). The beginning of the parade is this Saturday - March 19, at 12 a.m. on the site in front of the puppet theater hall at 19, Yanko Sakazov Blvd.
On Saturday from 11 a.m. and from 4:30 p.m. the performance of the Puppet Theatre - Blagoevgrad The Little Fairy will be presented. In two consecutive days (March 19 and 20) the audience will be able to see the play Little Zero at the Sofia Puppet Theatre. The performance has been nominated for the Icarus Award in the category Achievement in Puppetry and will be played from 11 a.m. in the hall at 19, Yanko Sakazov Blvd. The book Ten Puppet Plays by Hristina and Miroslav Stoilovi will be presented on Saturday at 6 p.m. in the hall at 14, General Gurko Street. The rich program of the Sofia Puppet Theatre Hall will also feature performances nominated for the Icarus Award in the Puppet Show category.
On Sunday, March 20, 11 a.m., the audience will meet Pippi Longstocking, a performance of the State Puppet Theater - Yambol. And after the performance, young and old will be able to join the creative workshop Let's make Pippi, which will be led by actors and artists from the Sofia Puppet Theater. The event is free, but by pre-booking at the box office of the theater at 14, General Gurko Street, Phone: 02 988 54 16.
On Monday - March 21 (World Puppetry Day), from 7 p.m. in the Sofia Puppet Theatre will be held the 13th Sivina Awards Ceremony. The awards are given to young actors working in the field of puppetry. This year 7 young artists from the Rhodope Drama Theatre Nikolay Haitov - Smolyan, State Puppet Theatre - Plovdiv, Drama and Puppet Theater Ivan Radoev - Pleven, Drama and Puppet Theatre Ivan Dimov - Haskovo, State Puppet Theatre - Gabrovo, State Puppet Theatre - Targovishte. The organizers of the award ceremony are ACT-UNIMA, Bulgaria. The event is traditionally hosted by the Sofia Puppet Theatre. The initiative is supported by the Union of Bulgarian Actors. The Puppet Theatre Saloon is part of the Sofia Theatre Saloon, which is included in the Calendar of Cultural Events of the Sofia Municipality for 2022, as well as part of the National Cultural Calendar and is supported by the Ministry of Culture and the Ministry of Tourism.
