The Bulgarian Capital is Turning into a Tribune of Peace

From May 5 to May 7 – only a week after Orthodox Easter, His Holiness Pope Francis will be on an apostolic visit to Bulgaria. The main part of his stay will be dedicated to the Bulgarian capital Sofia. Immediately after his arrival at Sofia Airport, His Holiness the Pope will be greeted with a welcome ceremony and will attend meetings with the Prime Minister of Bulgaria, the President of the Republic of Bulgaria, the Patriarch and the Holy Synod. In St. Alexander Nevsky Cathedral the Pope will hold a prayer service in front of the iconostasis of the holy brothers Cyril and Methodius, which is a great acknowledgment of the Bulgarian contribution to the culture of Europe, and in the central square in the heart of Sofia - Knyaz Alexander I Square, the Pope will deliver the Regina Coeli prayer, as well as hold a Divine Liturgy and a sermon to laymen and believers. In Nezavisimost Square there will be an event for peace with the Pope attended by representatives of various religious denominations in Bulgaria.

Sofia – the City of Religious Tolerance, will send once again a message to the whole world about peace, love and goodwill.
