Almost BGN 3 million have been Invested in the Film Industry for the Past 5 Years

As a creative city of cinema - part of the UNESCO Creative Cities Network since 2014, Sofia Municipality has been supporting the film industry of the city for the past 5 years. BGN 2 894 000 have been invested. For the past year, the six biggest film festivals and the creation of 13 films have been supported. Among them are the feature movie New Generation, The Temptation Pavel Koichev directed by Vladimir Lyutskanov, the documentary Music from the Outskirts dedicated to the history of the Bulgarian hip-hop and Sonya Yoncheva - the Path of a Diva by the journalist Georgi Toshev. The municipality also supports Sofia International Film Festival, Sofia Meetings and Sofia Independent Film Festival (SoIndepеndent Film Fest), In the Palace International Short Film Festival, Kinomania (Cinemania), CineLibri and the new initiative Meetings of Young European Cinema as well as outdoor screenings in 10 different neighborhoods united under the name Block Cinema.
