At the end of last year, the renovation of the Baths building in Bankya started - apart from the restoration of all the details and the interior, its activities will also be resumed soon. The Bath was founded in 1911 and is the work of Munich Professor Hoheder. At present, workes are engaged in the restoration of the roof and of architectural elements. Structural reinforcement is also being added. The royal baths, dressing rooms and ceramic flooring will be restored. The Baths will once again turn into a wellness and spa center. The restoration is scheduled to finish by the middle of 2020. In the meantime, the mayor of Bankya and his team have the task of exploring, discussing and offering a management plan.
Sofia Municipality has also asked the state to manage the Baths in Ovcha Kupel and Gorna Banya in order to invest in them and preserve them.
