Thousands of People Celebrated World Snow Day in the Mountain

The fourth edition of Vitosha Winter Fest turned into an emotional sports holiday. Around 600 people took part in downhill skiing and cycling near Aleko hut and thousands of people watched them. The winners were awarded by the Deputy Mayor of Sofia Doncho Barbalov, Anatoli Iliev - organizational secretary of Sofia, and others. Sofia - European Capital of Sport launched its annual program of activities for 2019 with the Vitosha Winter Fest. The sports fest took place for the 4th consecutive year and was once again dedicated to the World Snow Day. The global initiative is organized for the eighth time and unites nearly 500 festive, sports and fun events at various world-famous ski resorts in 46 countries. The motto of the World Snow Day - “Explore, enjoy, experience”, is linked to the unforgettable winter sports. Vitosha Ski once again provided the participants of Vitosha Winter Fest with passes at the symbolic price of BGN 1. Furthermore, all children under the age of 14 also used lift passes costing BGN 1. The program of the festival included numerous demonstrations, competitions, fun games and quizzes.
