The Christmas Spirit Has Already Arrived in Sofia

On the eve of 2019 the Bulgarian capital is welcoming its residents and guests with a lot of colorful Christmas offers. From November 23 to December 23 you can visit the traditional German Christmas Bazaar in the City Garden every day from 11 am to 9 pm. There you can enjoy a glass of mulled wine, have some sausages and meet Santa Claus. From December 20 to December 23 the Handmade Fest at the National Palace of Culture will also await you – there you can find the most attractive handmade souvenirs and gifts. From December 11 to December 16 Sofia International Book Fair and Sofia International Literary Festival 2018 will be held. The shopping centers in Sofia will also offer an array of Christmas items. You will find souvenirs in Sofia’s tourist and information centers as well as at the Women’s market (Zhenski Pazar) where you can find fresh fruit and vegetables, national folklore costumes, ceramic items, hand-knit woolen socks and souvenirs. The Christmas Spirit has challenged people to take part in Sofia Municipality’s traditional competition for most beautiful outdoor Christmas decoration and thus balconies, gardens and houses are now shining bright, embraced by the holiday spirit. The competition will end on January 15, 2019.
