Small Season 2019

Festival, with more than sixty events, for the most creative and youngest talents. Dance and theatre performances, literary and poetry readings, readings of contemporary Bulgarian plays, concerts, screenings of short and feature films, exhibitions and installations of visual artists, discussions and presentations of original creative ideas. The festival invites young and established foreign guests from Germany, Greece, Italy, Lithuania, Spain, Romania, the United States and other countries. They represent the institutions with which they are connected, their creativity and methods, they perform, participate in discussions and hold creative workshops with Bulgarian artists and thus enrich the Bulgarian context.

Farmers’ Markets Oborishte – summer season

After 5 years of successful farmers’ markets in the capital and around the country, now for the first time, the farmers’ markets are part of the cultural events calendar of the capital. This is possible thanks to the long-standing partnership between Sofia Municipality and Pazari Yug EAD and their joint efforts to change the idea that the markets are just about trade - they are actually a cultural and social phenomenon, a tourist attraction and a daily necessity for the people in the city
This year, there will be events every month. During the summer season they will take place on Sunday - June 30, July 28 and August 25, from 11 am to 7 pm at Oborishte Street, behind St Alexander Nevsky Cathedral.
Familiar and new producers from all over the country will be presented. There will also be an art zone and cosmetic and beauty productstraditions and crafts, music, and thematic workshops for people of all ages.

OFFICIAL CHANGE OF THE GUARD IN FRONT OF THE PRESIDENCY

A TO JAZZ FESTIVAL 2019

Yuzhen Park II
A to Jazz Festival is the largest international forum in Bulgaria, promoting and developing jazz and musical improvisations, a member of the Europe Jazz Network. It will take place on July 5 - 7, 2019, outdoors in Yuzhen Park II. There have been 8consecutive editions featuring the brightest names from the Bulgarian, European and world jazz scene attended by over 120,000 people. The event presents young debuting musicians, established Bulgarian artists living abroad, the artists’ most recent and new productions. There is also a children's educational music workshop as well as creative meetings and lectures, jamsessions for amateurs and art-bazaar with items of Bulgarian artists.

180 DEGREES – LABORATORY FOR INNOVATIVE ART

180 degrees is not only a festival but also a platform / laboratory for contemporary music, dance, theater, design and architecture. 180 degrees is an experiment that provokes art, people, artists and space. The mission of 180 degrees’ team is to provide young artists with the opportunity to develop their innovative and creative ideas and to present their art to more people. Since 2014, these events have diversified the cultural program of the capital and have provided more varied options during the summer season. The idea of the festival is an exchange of knowledge and creative techniques between foreign and Bulgarian professionals in the field of contemporary art!
