The fast food restaurant chain McDonald’s has 15 restaurants in Sofia. McDonald’s philosophy is quality products, excellent service, pleasant atmosphere. The company specializes in making sandwiches, French fries, fruit milkshakes, ice cream and soft drinks. Ronald the Clown is the symbol of the company. The first McDonald's restaurant in Sofia was opened in December 1995 on Slaveykov Square. Ronald McDonald made his debut in Sofia with a grand opening parade. The following year, 1996, the first McDrive restaurant in Bulgaria was opened in Sofia.
