Description

Not a great distance away from Sofia University, located on Vasil Levski Boulevard, is the memorial tomb of Alexander I of Battenberg, the final resting place of the first monarch of the Third Bulgarian State since 1898. Commissioned to Swiss architect, Heinrich Mayer in 1894, its interior was painted by Haralampi Tachev.
