Historical Information

Founded in the 9th–10th centuries AD, it can be considered one of the oldest monasteries in the Diocese of Sofia. In the 15th century and the beginning of the Ottoman rule it was destroyed and in 1593 it was restored by monks and painted in 1596 by Pimen Zograf.
